DOSIA SANFORD is a weaver whose work takes both material and pedagogical forms, seeing weaving as both an output of discrete objects and as the intangible labor of continuity. She has pursued an alternative education in fiber arts through direct mentorship with skilled practitioners on 18th and 19th- century looms and through her own self-directed research into design and labor histories. She has worked on the restoration of 13th century tapestry; taught 18th century and other historic weaving techniques; She has created woven works for interiors on commission and spec, as well as worked in collaboration with other visual artists, including Tarwuk, Anne Low, and Cal Siegel. Recently she has exhibited her work in exhibitions including, Peculiar Manufactures, during Upstate Art Weekend at the Catskill Octagon House, Catskill, NY; and A Twisted Rag in a Scallop Shell, Astor Weeks, NYC. She lives in Vermont
